Nigerian Email Scams Continue

As of late the largest percentage of email scams flow from the poverty-stricken areas of Nigeria. While captured IP addresses of email scam senders are diverse, ranging from Nigeria, India, Saudi Arabia, the UK, and many other areas, the fact remains that unlike other countries, Nigeria holds the record, along with surrounding areas directly outside of Nigeria.

Most recent emails from Nigeria are pleading in essence, almost as if they are begging for someone to hand over money to help them. When you read the most recent scam letters, they have become less organized and less orchestrated. The way they come across now are seemingly as if they have lost the back bone for actually working hard on their scam letters. Most are shortened to only a few sentences and seem to lack the indulgent over board writings we in the anti-scam community have seen in the past.

While fake checks and money gram emails abound, where fake western union emails and the such continue to invade our inboxes, the same emails that come from India and the Middle East, are getting more connected with other scam techniques. One recent email claimed to be about a "closing of your account" this wasn't just another bank scam, using special professional input codes, and text capturing cells to get account information, this scam artist managed to drain hundreds of thousands of dollars from unsuspecting bank account owners, who believed they were actually answering a real email from their bank.

On several anti-scam email sites, you can find the examples of these fake emails, while you may not believe that some people would actually fall for some of these really horribly played out scams, there are some people who do fall for these scams, and don't realize it till it's too late.
